Since the introduction of the Skyway TA Frame Kits in the early 80’s, nothing has surpassed the genuine look of the iconic tear drop tubing that is TA (Totally Aerodynamic).
Now in 2020, Skyway are proud to release the closest design to the original TA, as a frame set and a complete bike. The teardrop tubing has been sourced to make sure these bikes are as original as can be. Each bike is numbered as a collector item and only the most appropriate parts have been used to create that superior TA feel.

Skyway’s new 2020 TA complete bike line up has created a lot on interest, and for good reason. It’s the first TA complete bikes since the TA300 in the late 80’s. With all the feedback on social media being mainly positive, I thought I would expose some information here to dispel the negative rumours.
First off, this is the real deal. It is not a slapped together bike from an old BMX company created to make money. This project is 3 years in the making and has been driven by Skyway USA in collaboration with Skyway Australia. Some of the original Skyway staff that were there in the 80’s are still at the helm of Skyway in the USA and I have been distributing Skyway product in Australia since 1978 and am also a BMXer, so this is not just a money grab. I would be selling energy drinks if I was in it for the money. Tooling costs, sourcing the right product and finding the right factories and assemblers all takes time and money. This all contributes to the final cost of these well designed and presented bikes.
These are not exact copies of the original TA completes or even frames. That would be disrespectful to the collectors out there who do have the original TA Frames. These are 2020 made frames built using the same teardrop TA tubing as in the 80’s, however there are slight changes. We have redesigned these frames from the 2012 rerelease, back closer to the way they were in the 80’s. They now feature a 21.5”TT, full Chromoly teardrop TA Tubing, 1” Threaded fork steerer, USA BB set, side pull calliper brake mounts and a 25.4mm seatpost tube. The TA fork and Handlebar are also full Chromoly. Each bike and Frameset will be a numbered product to give this new complete, a mystique of its own. It will never be a genuine original 80’s model, but will be an affordable collector bike, or a fun retro all day get around bike.
For those collectors who do have the genuine product, please don’t think this is undermining you. You have the original real deal from the Chuck Raudman/Ken Coster days. This new 2020 version is a collaboration of Ken Coster and Myself and draws on our 40 year business and personal relationship, which I believe would be the longest business relationship in BMX worldwide. This project is driven by passion, not money and we hope we make someone happy to know they can own a genuine Skyway bike themselves. If anyone wanted to see our Passion for BMX, they just have to watch our Micro series of Documentaries released in 2018 on our YouTube channel.
These bikes will not be available before May and will be available in Chrome with Black, Blue or Red wheels and parts in the standard or Pro versions and also White in the standard version. There will also be a Graphite model available mid-year.
