My
first weekend of racing was good at the WA Pre meeting and I had top three
results. The track was not very smooth and I found it bumpy in the berms.
I guess it was the same for everyone. A build up through the week was
okay but when it came to the Friday I was to race my luck saw me not get
past the eights.................................

At one of the biggest Aussie titles,
we have seen in a while, with a lot of riders vying for a place in the
worlds in Adelaide in July, we were going to be in for some hot racing.
With the Champbikx series decider & Aussie titles at stake, I knew
I was in for big week of racing. This is where all the training I have
done I hope pays off. ................................................

Sunday was Cruiser day and I was
a little nervous as it was 12 and Under and I’m only 10, and there
are a heap of really fast eleven & twelve year olds, with about a
hundred riders in total in this class. Just like my 20” class, my
first goal was to make is past 1/8th finals to qualify for the world championships,
and then just try to keep getting top four. ..............................

The track was longer this time.
There used to be a double, and a triple on the third straight. But now
there is a step-down and a massive table-top. It is all downhill. And
the fourth straight we have to ride up the hill that we went down on the
third straight. I practiced my sprints so I was good at that. The last
straight was the same as last time. .............................

There weren’t many people
at Bathurst. There were only 5 people including me in 14 boys but still
was a fun day. Aidan Vahtrik came over to race as well. He was my biggest
competitor of the day. ..................................

The Aussie track was very short,
tight and bumpy, but everybody had to race on it. I liked how the first
berm was a sweeping berm, you could pick up a lot of speed going into
the 2nd straight. The 2nd and 3rd berm was very tight. I raced good in
the pre titles and got a good feel for the track, praying that it would
smooth out before we rode on it on Friday. Friday came and I was a bit
nervous going into my first moto, I only knew a couple of riders in my
moto......... .............

We arrived in Perth and did some
touristy things, having a look at the beaches and rode around a very windy
Rottnest Island - that got my legs working again!! I enjoyed riding the
track this year although it was a bit bumpy it was still fast and fairly
flowing ....................................

The Nationals this year were indoors
so the track was pretty small and the corners were pretty tight. The track
was about 250 metres long. The second corner was very tight and slippery
so there were lots and lots of crashes there. That track really suited
me so I went well......................................

This year, the nNationals were
huge because the top 32 get through to the world championships. The track
was very technical but good fun. The place was very small, so it had very
tight corners. Lots of action was happening on the second corner where
it was very tight and slippery................................

I
had a great time in Cairns while attending the Qld State Titles 2008.
The weather was a lot kinder than last time we were up there for the Aussie
Champs. The track was fast and flowing smooth and was even faster on finals
day, after it bucketed down rain Saturday night.

We had 2 days of racing. The first day, there were 3 test races and 3
Mighty 11’s races. The second day, I had 2 test races and 2 Mighty
11’s races, quarter final, semi final and a final. There were a
lot of riders from all around the country and the competition was pretty
good.
